It is our pleasure and privilege to extend you a warm invitation to attend the " AIIMS-PULMOCRIT 2021 ": Update in Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India on the 20 th & 21 st March, 2021. This Update is being organized by the Department of Pulmonary, Critical Card & Sleep Medicine, AIIMS, New Delhi. This invitation is well in advance to ensure your participation in the conference and also to facilitate your planning ahead. Due to these unprecedented circumstances, this year the conference & workshop shall be held online.
Over last few years, Pulmonary, Critical care and Sleep Medicine has been evolving at a rapid pace and newer diagnostic and therapeutic modalities have been proposed for various disorders. Also, continuous research is on to improve our understanding of mechanism of diseases in this field. In this scenario, it is extremely difficult, but nevertheless necessary to keep abreast with all the latest developments. Hence we have planned this Update to bring to focus the recent advances in common clinical conditions. It shall be our endeavor to put together a rigorous and stimulating scientific program consisting of lectures, symposia, debates on ongoing controversies, as well as “How I do it” topics. The update would cover entire spectrum of conditions related to Respiratory, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. Some of the important topics which would be included are - Obstructive and Interstitial lung diseases, Pulmonary Hypertension, Lung cancer, Pneumonia, Interventional Pulmonology, Sleep Disorders, Tuberculosis and others. There will also be many hot topics in the field of Critical Care such as ventilator associated pneumonia, neuromuscular weakness, difficult weaning etc.
In recent years, rapid advancements have been made in critical care management, ventilator strategies and the promising role of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). In this regard, two- day " AIIMS-International Workshop on Mechanical Ventilation "is being organized on 13th – 14 th March, 2021 involving eminent International and National tutors. This will be an extensive lecture based plus hands-on workshop for comprehensive skill acquisition in ventilator care.
